Meet Dr. Amber Erickson in Floodwood, MN
Dr. Amber Erickson, MD is a West Duluth native with Iron Range roots. She is board certified in adult neurology and clinical neurophysiology, by the American board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
She has 15 years of experience in general neurology, specializing in neuromuscular medicine, including EMG’s and botox treatment for neurologic disorders.
Key Leadership and Contributions
Dr. Erickson developed and served as medical director of an ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Association Certified Clinic of Excellence, was medical director of the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Care Center, served as section chair of the neurology department, and was site investigator for ALS related research trials.
She is described by patients to be compassionate and thoughtful, with excellent communication skills.

Educational Background and Training
She attended Macalester College in St. Paul, MN as an undergraduate and completed her medical degree, neurology residency and fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Clinical Interests and Specializations
Dr. Erickson is a general neurologist with subspecialty training in neuromuscular medicine and extensive neurodiagnostic expertise. Her primary areas of interest and specialization include:
Electrodiagnostics (performing electromyography and nerve conduction studies to diagnose conditions of the peripheral nervous system)
Botox injections (including EMG guided) for conditions such as cervical dystonia, hemifacial spasm, and blepharospasm.
Evaluation of and treatment for neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis, CIDP, and other inflammatory, metabolic, and autoimmune peripheral neuropathies.
